The first thing that hit me as I got off the bus at Hald Hovedgaard, was the almost deafening quiet. I was shown to my room and got a tour of the main building. Set up my computer and went straight to work.
For me a big part of writing is planning. I’ve had the basic idea for the story for months, I’ve written chapter overviews, thought about the tone and theme, characters and dialogue. I’ve made notes on the train coming here. Most of this pre-writing can be done anywhere, anytime. In my sleep, even! The actual writing process is a different beast entirely, but by no means scary. It just takes time.
And that, my friends, is what I have right now. So; back to work.
