Things are starting out good here in Bretagne. First, there was the announced train strike. How is that good? Well, it was on Thursday. I flew in Friday. So while I missed out on the beginning of the festival, I was able to get here using my non-refundable train tickets instead of having to rent a car in Paris.
Second stroke of luck: I forgot my messenger bag at home. I always bring a smaller bag to carry around at festivals. I failed to stumble apon a cheap bag on the way from the station to the hotel, but when I went to retrieve my convention badge, guess what the free gift was?
Yup. A messenger bag.
Third but not least, I don’t have much of a hangover this morning. Let’s hope the rest of the weekend turns out just as smoothly. Time to go walk the floors and see if I can go home a few books lighter. Small expectations – bigger chance of success.
