OK, time for a little update from the hotel wi-fi lounge, while the rest of the family collapsed in our room.
Today we visited the Museum of Cartoon Art to look at original Green Lantern artwork, old Disney backgrounds and other cool stuff. Not the biggest exhibit in the world, but hey, at least they have a museum for comics. We also walked and walked and walked in the sun (stupid Danish tourists), dipped our feet in the chilly San Francisco Bay and finally rode the famed Old Cable Car up Hyde Street back to our hotel. Very picturesque, very uncomfortable. We lucked out on this trip, though; The first day at breakfast, a French family of four gave us their 9-day pass for the bus and cable cars, including unused tickets to the California Academy of Sciences and a Bay Cruise..! Didn’t get their names, but THANK YOU so much, Parisian family.
Unfortunately the Alcatraz tour was sold out until next Sunday, but we got a look at it up close from the cruise boat. Next time…
Superman on display at the De Young Museum in Golden Gate Park. |
I never noticed that The Maltese Falcon takes place in San Francisco. Apparently Hammet lived here. There’s a tour. Seems to geeky, even for me. |
My back is killing me from pushing a stroller up and down these hills. In Denmark you can take your sleeping toddlers on the bus, pram and all, for free. Hardly seems fair, but very convenient! |
Another beautiful day at the San Francisco Bay. |

Correction: Kid + stroller is free in Denmark, not the adult. So it's not free, really…
