Here’s what some of my peers said about Stiletto:
Like a Phoenix with a Tommy Gun rising from the ashes of The Valentine’s Day Massacre, Palle Schmidt, takes what Frank Miller and Brian Azzarello established in crime comics and takes it to the next level!
– Dean Haspiel, creator of Billy Dogma, and consultant on HBO’s Bored To Death
There is no doubting the quality of Palle’s artwork, but what I appreciate most is the way he can weave a story and create engaging characters. The combination of his artwork and his storytelling is a potent mix, and I never fail to get lost in the worlds he creates. With ‘Stiletto’, Palle has returned to the action, intensity and excitement of ‘The Devil’s Concubine’, but this time he has put at it’s centre a main character who draws you in so deeply that you feel his tale of corruption, betrayal and personal tragedy will swallow you whole.
– Phil Rutter, feature film script consultant.
Palle Schmidt’s art combines European and American illustration styles to make something uniquely appealing – and that’s not even talking about the writing. He’s all about down and dirty, neo-noir stories that you won’t be able to get out of your head – beautifully drawn characters doing ugly things to each other. Read his stuff.
– Charles Soule, writer of Strongman, 27 and Swamp Thing
Thanks guys, I really appreciate it.
