I’m a great believer in the power of commitment. If you want to quit smoking, tell 10 people you are quitting, people you respect. The chance of succes is much greater, if failure means you have to face your peers and admit you didn’t follow through.
Want to get your book written? Your graphic novel done? Promise someone important to you, commit to making a page a week. And have THEM commit to making you KEEP your promise.
I recommend setting goals and commiting to them, becauses I’m one of those old-fashioned types who makes no promises unless I plan to keep them. Promising myself is a start, but promising OTHERS is where things really start happening.
Like with this blog; I started out wanting to do more of my own stuff, my own stories. Blogging takes time AWAY from those things, right?
Yes and no.
Blogging works, because of the power of commitment. If I’m blogging about what I’m doing, then I have to DO something, to have something to blog about. Makes sense? It sure does to me. And you’re helping out just being here.
Thank you!
